AlmostExpat (almostexpat.com) is a free online publisher of relocation information. We produce practical guides for people planning international moves. We are based in New Zealand. We are not immigration advisers, lawyers, financial advisers, tax agents, or relocation agents, and we do not provide professional advice of any kind.

This is the most important thing to understand about our content.
Everything on AlmostExpat is general information published for educational purposes. It is not, and must not be relied upon as, professional advice for your individual situation. This includes all content relating to:
- Immigration and visas — eligibility, pathways, points, processing times, and requirements
- Money, tax, and finance — currency transfer, banking, cost-of-living figures, tax obligations, pensions, and exchange-control rules
- Healthcare — public and private health system access and insurance
- Schools, housing, and employment
Immigration rules, fees, tax laws, exchange rates, and eligibility criteria change frequently and vary by individual circumstance, nationality, and timing. Figures and requirements that were accurate when published may be out of date by the time you read them.
